The roof timbers for the Kachieng Church Community Centre were erected during July in readiness for the roof tiles which have now been purchased.
In order to ensure the building would be a completely safe construction it was decided to ask the Local Council Building Control department to visit site and carry out an inspection of the building & to make recommendations if there were any concerns.
After checking the drawings of PASH’s appointed architect against the construction to date, it was decided that the foundations & walls were to a good standard but that the roof timbers should be strengthened to ensure it can take the weight of the roof tiles & cope with any adverse weather conditions.
Additional funding required to complete the roof will be in the order of £1500.0 to £2000.00.

The Derby Constabulary choir, postponed because of bad weather in January, eventually went ahead in February.
Derbyshire Constabulary Choir Concert with PASH Helpers & two singers
The concert was a huge success & very entertaining; the choir & pianists performed really well & we had a good size audience who enjoyed the concert very much.
The amount raised through ticket sales & donations amounted to £1000.00, a fantastic result, so thanks to all who supported this event.
All the money will be used this time to purchase more roof timbers & construct the timbers on to the Kachieng Community Church Centre.
During April 2013 money was found to purchase & construct the roof timbers and the photographs show the church at this stage of construction.
It is now imperative that the tiles are fitted before the timbers are damaged by wet & windy weather, the amount of money required to do this is in the region of £1000.00.
