Set off on time from Derby/Nottingham in bright sunny weather aiming for Scotch Corner. As we joined the A66 we also joined stair-rod rain!! which kept our driver occupied until Penrith when things brightened. Had a pleasant walk around Keswick & picked up a few last minute bargain hunting items. Arrived at base camp around 5-30pm & as we settled in the heavens opened & still are open at 10-30pm; the good Lord doesn’t want us walking on dry ground.
Much to ours & everyone else’s astonishment we actually prepared a 3 course meal – garlic bread, chilli & wine.
We are now prepared for the day ahead – let battle commence!!
